Susquehanna Surgery Center (SSCI) is proud to be a locally owned and operated ambulatory surgery center since 2001.
SSCI undergoes rigorous inspections from both the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and the Department of Health.
Since opening, our facility has been managed by Ty Williams, Administrator. Our nurse manager, Jacob Ripa, RN, and our elite staff continue to evaluate and improve various aspects of the facility on a daily basis.
What is an
ambulatory surgery center?
An ambulatory surgery center is a facility where same-day surgeries are performed. Patients have the option to undergo a procedure without having to be admitted to the hospital. All surgeries are done in a fully equipped operating room by highly trained staff.

Microinvasive Carpal Tunnel Surgery
Same-day total joint replacements in Bloomsburg, PA! We are pleased to announce that we are now doing total knee and hip replacements in our facility. You will arrive the day of your scheduled procedure, be cared for by our expert staff, go through your procedure, and then you have the ability to recover in the comfort of your own home!
Dr. Williams, DO was the first in Pennsylvania to start performing the microinvasive carpal tunnel surgery.

Our Services
Orthopaedic Surgery
Many orthopaedic surgeries are done weekly by SVMS’s very own Dr. Williams, DO. He performs many procedures at this facility including total joint replacements, carpal tunnel surgery, rotator cuff repairs, meniscus repairs, and many more.
General Surgery
General surgery refers to procedures focused on the abdominal cavity. Common procedures done in our facility include endoscopies, colonoscopies, and hernia repairs. General surgery procedures done at SSCI are performed by Dr. Pyles, MD and Dr. Yavorek, MD FACS.
Ophthalmic Surgery
Ophthalmic surgery, or more commonly known as eye surgery, is done in our facility by ophthalmologists Dr. Fassero, MD and Dr. Lutz, MD. Both surgeons are known for performing cataract surgery here at SSCI.
Podiatry
Podiatry refers to treatment of the foot and ankle. Podiatrists Dr. Portonova, DPM and Dr. Kujat, DPM from Portonova Foot and Ankle Specialists perform procedures here at SSCI.
Pain Management
Pain management procedures performed here include ablations and injections done by PA Pain Physicians’ Dr Kurowski, MD.
